Managed by D&G LEADER Programme, Day of the Region is a  European funded initiative which encourages grass-roots rural community activity and cooperation through a programme of special events and activities. It sets out to capture the very essence of rural life in our region and encourages more people to participate in the wonderful array of activities that go on throughout the year.

Lochmaben and District Initiative is excited that we are one of the communities which have been given the opportunity to showcase all that is good about life in a rural community.

Set up to organise our programme of events, the DOR Working Group would be pleased to hear from individuals or groups who are interested in putting on an activity, or a display on a stall  in the Church Hall, on the weekend of 4-6 October.

Andrea McRobert, Sheona Muir,Michael Dickie, Beverley Wilkinson and Tom Russell will be delighted to talk about the plans that have already been made and listen to suggestions about other activities which might be included in the programme.

The Working Group is keen to run a programme which will showcase the many activities for all ages, abilities and interests which are on offer in Lochmaben and that there is a great buzz about the Royal Burgh on that weekend in October. All activities will be free to the general public.

You are encouraged to get involved over the coming months and become part of this event which will put Lochmaben on the Regional Map.
