Community Forum meeting

There was a disappointing turnout by Members of the community groups who were invited to attend the first Community Forum held by Annandale North Councillors in Lochmaben Primary School. The meeting gives these groups an opportunity to raise any local issue with the Councillors and their officials in an informal setting. Issues raised re Lochmaben were the Paddling Pool Management Committee, pot holes in the streets and provision of a litter bin in the Mill Loch Park and a hessian screen for the fringe lily control.

Wider issues were concerns over flood control measures at Hightae, the proposed forestry railhead at Beattock and the poor state of the cycle path along the A74 all purpose road.

The next meeting will be held at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 18 June in Lockerbie and then on Wednesday 8 October in Moffat. It is hoped that more representatives of Community Groups will attend this worthwhile initiative.
