Annandale Action Group for Tenants & Resi
Lochmaben & District Tenants & Residents Association (TARA) now known as Lochmaben Action Group for Tenants & Residents meet every two months on a Monday at 2 pm at the Town Hall. Our objective is to be a One Voice for All, working with other organisations in the area e.g. the Community Council, elected councillors and the police. We aim to represent the views of the people in the town and surrounding areas. The group undertake their own community projects.
Achievements to date: TARA have pushed for a new roof to be put on the library, the repair to the roads and pavements at Vendace Drive, Complained about lights burning 24-7 at the public toilets, supported the Community Council re the litter on the streets, put garden furniture in place at Glebe Crescent, paid for restoration of garden bench at Barras. We as a Tenants & Residents association are there to support the folk of Lochmaben re housing matters, be they Tenants or Residents. We work closely with all landlords. At present we are chasing the council to clear branches etc. from the road signs in the town.
Update January 2014
The Lochmaben & District Tenants & Residents Association, held there AGM in December 2013.
There was a good turn out for same, from tenants, residents, councillors, community safety warden, community council and DGHP.
There was one change in the to the role of office bearers = Mr John Scott, was elected to the post of Chair.
Other office bearers are = Stewart Ainsworth, Vice Chair, Ronald A. Ritchie = Secretary and Treasurer.
Mr Graeme Tait, Councillor, was sent a letter Thanking him for his work and time given to the TARA, over the past three years.
The next meeting of the TARA takes place on the 10th February 2pm at the Portacabin, at Lochmaben Primary School, and in the future.
