KINGS ARMS A.F.C.

The Kings Arms are a new team competing in the Dumfries Sunday Amateur 1st Division. At the moment we are playing in Lochmaben at Robsons Park, Mossvale. The majority of our players are from the town and we are always on the lookout for new blood. Lochmaben AFC have won the Dumfries and District Amateur Football League for the second year in a row.The team made up mostly of players from Lochmaben won 18 of their league games drew 3 and lost only 1.Top goalscorer for the team was Charles Common with 40 goals closely followed by Douglas McRoberts with 37 goals.

To find out who wins the other awards come along to the end of season prizegiving on June 10th in the Kings Arms.Tickets are available priced at £6.00 and are on sale in the Kings Arms. The football club’s AGM is in the Kings Arms on June 8th at 8pm and new members are welcome.Anyone interested in helping to run the club should attend as the current management duo of Stewart Thorburn and Kenny Galloway are both stepping down after many successful years in charge of the team. Lochmaben A.F.C. won the first silverware of the Dumfries and District Amateur Football League on Friday 28/10/05 when they defeated Bellevue 3–2 in the Burns Cup final.
Lochmaben were 2–0 up at half time through goals by Mark Mcmillan and Kevin Robertson,but Bellevue fought back in the second half to draw level,before an Alan Maxwell goal in the second minute of injury time won the game for Lochmaben.
