Our Community Council – get involved, shape the future yourself

The Royal Burgh of Lochmaben & District Community Council is a local government body in Scotland that represents the interests of the Lochmaben community in compliance with statutory guidelines and in co-operation with the unitary Local Authority – Dumfries and Galloway Council.

It is made up of elected members who the local residents choose to serve on the council.

The council works to promote the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the Lochmaben area and to ensure that the views and concerns of the local community are heard and taken into account by the larger governing bodies.

Some of the issues that the council may be involved in include planning and development, local services and facilities, community events and activities, and environmental issues.

It is important to note that all of the members of the Community Council are volunteers who give freely of their own time.
